Kirk Copen

Biography

Kirk Copen serves as the Vice President of Engineering for IDEMIA NSS, with over 25 years of experience in software development. Kirk obtained his degree in Computer Science from West Virginia University and began working as a system engineer for the initial rollout of the FBI Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS.) He went on to specialize in efficiency algorithm development, specifically developing matching and merging techniques for databases as well as improving runtimes for microsimulation modeling processes. Kirk has worked as an architect for both on-prem and cloud systems for federal agencies, state agencies, and financial institutions. In addition to leading the engineering organization at NSS, Kirk also spends time studying emerging technologies and development practices to leverage for IDEMIA NSS.
